A Town to Come Home To

On behalf of the residents of the City of Victor, we would like to say thank you to Scott Fitzgerald for his years of dedicated services – both as a Councilman and as our Mayor during the past four years.  The list of his accomplishments while in office are too numerous to mention here, but his openness and willingness to work with all different kind of groups and his vision has only helped Victor grow as time marches on.

We all wish Scott, his lovely wife, Jannine and his son Braden all the best and hope the future is full of long, relaxing bike trips!!

If you have any interest in either becoming Mayor (one two year position) or joining Victor’s City Council (two four year positions the deadline for filing your intent to run is this Friday, September 9th at 5:00 p.m.

This is also a reminder that Tuesday, November 8th is voting day.  We will have a list of all the candidates available for your perusal beginning Tuesday, September 13th.  Watch for articles in the local newspapers that will touch on pertinent issues.  Be informed and take the time to vote – it does count.

In order to process your payment as soon as possible, we are asking that you kindly put your account number on your check in

the memo section instead of “water & sewer bill.”  This simple act saves our Utility Billing Clerk a lot of time by not having to look up your account.  The account number is always on your bill.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this matter.

Unfortunately, the problems due to unnecessary flushing of things into the sewer system that should not be must again be mentioned for residents in these two subdivisions.

People continue to flush sanitary products, heavy weighted paper towels and baby wipes and cleaning wipes continue to clog the pump station.  These wipes are the major culprit with getting clogged in our pump.  Again – if it says “flushable” there’s a 99% chance that it is NOT.  Please do not flush wipes of ANY sort down your toilet.

Please remember that if these problems continue, City Council will have NO choice but to consider levying fines to those offenders.   Also remember that the City can track down the offenders who are creating this problem, but with your cooperation we hope we will not have to.

The City of Victor is pleased to inform residents of a discount prescription card program that will be available for you to save up to 23% on your prescriptions.  The National League of Cities is making this program available for us to participate in.  For those who do not have health insurance, this is definitely a way save some your hard-earned cash.  There is no charge and one card is good for the entire family’s use.  If you have a pet that is on a “human” prescription, you will be able to use the card to save on that prescription also.

Corner Drug and Broulim’s are on the list of pharmacies participating in this program so you can save and never leave the valley!

Should you care to learn more about the program yourself, call 1-888-620-1749 for assistance.

Cards will be available in October upon request.  Call City Hall at 787-2940 if you’d like to be put on a list to receive one.

Attached is a survey that was generated by Friends of Teton River that is meant for residents of the City of Victor and it asks pertinent questions about water usage.  Please read and make your comments regarding this most precious resource.  There are a couple of ways to participate.  For those of you who prefer the computer option – you’ll find the info at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Victor_water.  Those who want to fill it out by hand you can either drop it off at City Hall either at the desk or in the drop box on the Elm St. side of the building or mail it to us.

Thanks for taking the time to fill this important survey out!
