A Town to Come Home To

The Greater Yellowstone Concept Plan

Great news on the Greater Yellowstone Trail. Last night at the American Trails Symposium in Dayton OH, the was recognized as the winner of the "Trail Planning & Design” award for projects larger than $500,000. The project history is the City of Victor contracted with Wyoming Pathways in 2015 to lead the Concept Plan development, with support from a HUD grant for Sustainable Communities. Wyoming Pathways hired Alta Planning to help prepare the Concept Plan, and all of you partners along the trail corridor from Jackson Hole to West Yellowstone helped to develop such a high-quality plan. This award recognizes Alta’s exceptional work on the plan development, and your significant contributions and the partnerships that helped put this together.

It's powerful to have the plan recognized with this American Trails award. It will help all our communities along the trail with future grant requests, including two new Federal Land Access Program grant applications going in this spring for next phases of work on the Teton Pass Trail section that is connecting Wilson WY and Victor ID.
