City of Victor Conducts Irrigation Fee Analysis

Victor Idaho, June 26, 2017 – The City of Victor owns, operates, and maintains the irrigation distribution system that serves residents in Victor’s old town, roughly the area south of Cedron/Aspen Streets, north of Elm Street, west of Baseline Road, and east of Crystal Avenue.  Due to increasing costs to maintain the ageing irrigation system and because rates have not been reviewed in many years, the City has conducted an Irrigation Fee Analysis and is proposing that the annual irrigation fee increase to $149.33 per acre.  The irrigation fee is an annual fee that is assessed once per year on a per acer basis.  Because the City owns, operates, and maintains the irrigation distribution system in old town only, residents outside of old town are not affected.    Parcels within old town that do not hold water rights are also not affected.

The City also holds the water rights in Golf Vista Subdivision but does not maintain the privately owned distribution system.  As such, residents in Golf Vista Subdivision will continue pay the user fee only, or $20.02 per year per acre.

The public hearing regarding the irrigation fee increase is scheduled for June 28, 2017 at 7:00 P.M., or as soon as the matter can be heard, at Victor City Hall located at 32 Elm Street.  As always, the City of Victor welcomes and encourages all public comment.  Please submit comments in writing to Victor City Hall, PO Box 122, Victor ID 83455 or by fax, 208-787-2357.  Public comment may also be emailed to oliviag@victorcityidaho.com.  Public comment will also be taken at the public hearing on June 28th.  Click here to view the entire Irrigation Fee Analysis.
