Winterfest

The first weekend in December brings a fun and family-oriented event that is very special to the City of Victor. Picture a live Nativity scene, a chance to enjoy a performance of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”, a chance to eat at a free baked potato loaded with toppings of your choosing, opportunities to wander through our city businesses for holiday gifts, turkey bowling with a chance to win a holiday dinner entrée, and an exquisite night holiday light parade – followed with fireworks that light up the night sky – and you have a snapshot of what our festival is all about.

Sound like fun? You bet it is and we hope you and yours will join us for this fantastic pre-holiday celebration. Check the advertisements in our local newspapers or the City’s website (victorcityidaho.com) for specific information.

Community Picnic and Arbor Day Celebration

The City of Victor sponsors a Community Picnic at Pioneer Park each year at the beginning of summer. Due to the mountain climate, the season of spring comes a little late to our area so our Arbor Day observance has also been incorporated with the picnic. This celebration is held annually in the of June.

The City provides burgers and hot dogs; residents bring side dishes and desserts to pass. It is a wonderful way to spend a nice sunny day with your family and getting to know all your neighbors. Along with the food, families can leave with a tree or shrub to plant in their yards that the City provides; there is also plenty of information to take home to read over as far as upkeep for your new planting item.

Lawnmower races have been added to the festivities. Children of all ages are invited to “soup” up their lawnmower motors and enter into this unique and fun event. Speaking of children, there is also a “treasure hunt” – a bale of hay is filled with candy and small toys for their enjoyment.
