Affordable Housing Technical Advisory Group Created, Vacancies Announced

Driggs, Idaho, July 26, 2017.  The cities of Driggs, Tetonia and Victor, along with Teton County, Idaho have jointly created an Affordable Housing Technical Advisory Group to advise the cities and county on actions that may be taken to increase opportunities for affordable housing. Specifically, the advisory group is tasked with providing input and recommendations on a housing production plan, based on an outline of strategies contained in the Teton County Idaho Housing Program Goals & Objectives Report commissioned by the county in 2016. Such a plan would identify specific tasks that may be pursued by the county and cities or other entities to facilitate development of specific housing types addressing a variety of housing needs, based on income levels.

The cities and county have advertised vacancies for the advisory group and interested persons can apply online via the City of Driggs website at www.DriggsIdaho.org/AHTAG .

Although the cities and county are hoping to appoint members with relevant experience in real estate, lending, development, design and community leadership, the only set requirement for members is residency in Teton County, Idaho.

The Mayors and Board of County Commissioners Chairman are expected to appoint members in August and the advisory group is expected to meet monthly for approximately one year, from September 2017 through September 2018.
